An addition to my previous blog
Well, I didn't want to admit it but here goes ...
After I finish with "A Loss Of Rights", the Immortal Warriors series may be going on a hiatus for a while.
The reason; I am running up against a wall trying to complete this story and I feel that there's nothing after this one at the moment. I do have other things to do, such as rewrite "The Trap" and give it the attention it really deserves. It's a good story, it just needs some refinement. I also have a sequel to the first book tentatively called Destiny's Revenge to be done. And like my friend Aslaug, I have a totally non-furry tome in my head that I would like to write along with my version of a Time Police type tome.
There, I said it. I hope y'all won't be mad at me for it. Maybe some other day I will come up with a very epic story for the Immortal Warriors to have a go at. We'll see.
The Last Sunday in June
Well, I decided that I would hack out a few lines before I go to bed.
To my friend Aslaug I salute her for thinking about writing another of her stories that was hinted at but not done. I look forward to her putting this up on her site because I know it will be good.
To my So Cal friend SC, the air up here from the fires had been ... bad. The sunlight has a strange orange cast to it and you can't see the hills from my house, which is less than 2 miles from my apartment. I have asthma so I have been forced to use inhalers that I haven't needed in years. I wish I could stay out of this bad air we are experiencing but my job on light duty has me measuring and inspecting playground asphalt! Oh Well ...
SC, I hope you get off those murderous shifts and can spend more quality time with your family. Take care and give that bum knee a rest. I can empathize because I have two of 'em.
Tigermark: Chapter 53 was very good. Hope to see another good chapter in a few months! LOL!!
That's all for now,

Well, today went much better for the ol' Warhorse.
For some reason, I felt much better and in not nearly as much pain as I was before. this was a treat, to be able to think and get my job done.
The weather and the fires have been playing hell with my asthma, causing me to feel somewhat congested. With 840+ fires burning, the air is not too good right now. Hopefully we will get some onshore breezes to clear this out.
That's all for now,

Well, just a short note that I have posted chapter 4 of "A Loss Of Rights" on my site. I was a little late in posting because of my somewhat poor condition right now.
Enjoy the chapter and feel free to send me feedback!

My Saturday of Boredom
Those of you that know me personally know I threw my back out a few weeks ago. Since then, I have been taking copious amounts of pain pills for my back because my employer thinks it's better to be on light duty than staying home, mending my back.
I finally dragged my tired old carcass out of bed at 8:30 this morning, got dressed and my tigress prepared a breakfast for us. I then sat down to do some work on my current "Immortal Warriors" story only to nap the morning and afternoon away. I still feel very under the weather at this moment, hoping I will get better.
I think it's the pain pills causing my inattentiveness, dulling my writing ability. To that end, I have decided to lay off the pills and see just how bad the pain is. If I can cope without the meds, I will.
I hope everyone else out there is doing fine.
Type to you later,

The Sunday Blog (!)
Just a quick blog to stay in touch ...
I was glad to hear that a close on line friend and fellow writer received my care package. I know she's busy with her own novel, getting it ready for publication so I know she'll check out her care package when she has the time.
Put a few miles on my bike today, just getting out of the house because I was going stir crazy. It felt good to exercise the legs because I was getting cramps in them. Made it a point to have the tigress get me some bananas while she was shopping today to help with the cramps.
Oh well, I have a story to write so I'll blog to ya later.

Big Brown and The Belmont Stakes ...
Big Brown ... didn't win the triple crown ...
In fact, the colt came in last, pulled up by his jockey. Thank God that Big Brown's jockey Kent Desormeaux had the common sense to pull up Big Brown when he didn't respond to his commands. I have seen other jockeys continue to whip a horse in an effort to get them to run again. Kent should be applauded for saving a fine equine such as Big Brown, giving him a chance to run again another day. More on this story can be found HERE.
As most of you might know, I have an affinity for horses in general. I have never been a big fan of horse racing because it never bodes well for the horses when their days of racing are over. To see this fine animal raced with a substantial hoof crack repair applied to his left front hoof is a shame in my eyes. What really bothered me was the fact that they waited until Friday (the day before the race) to do something about it. The trainer had been aware of the hoof crack since right after the Preakness race in May.
The hoof specialist that applied the patch to Big Brown's hoof was very pleased with it but I guess you had to see this crack repair to understand that the weight of the hardware they used on Big Brown may have thrown the colt off. I still have to question how long they waited before doing something about the crack.
Anyway, so much for my trip up onto the soapbox. I'm still trying to recover from a strained back, the doctor telling me to stay out another two weeks on light duty. If the pain would just go away ...
Chapter 4 of "The Price Of Worship" is up on the The Raccoon's Bookshelf and I'm going to post Chapter 4 of "A Loss Of Rights" on June 14th.
A quick note to a friend: Aslaug, look for a care package in the mail soon.
Until next time,
Take care and be safe!
