Monday's Blog

Just a short update:

Chapter 25 of "A Loss Of Rights" is up for your reading pleasure. It's kind of a strange chapter but it's necessary to set up the next one.

to Aslaug and SC-Take care, my friends. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

I will do a more detailed blog when I'm not falling asleep at the keyboard.

If you haunt FurAffinity or DeviantArt, I have some new pics up over there. They may not be new to you but to the others that don't come here, they are new. Look for kellanmeigh at eother place.

Be well,

March 21, 2009 Saturday Blog

A lot to say this evening so here goes.

As many of you may know, I have been off work for some time now. I had really hoped to return to work before now but as you see, this has not happened. This back of mine may have done its last real day's work and now it's starting to bother me. I can't take this not working and what would I do for a job if I had to leave my current employer? All I know is this: I have been working towards getting my back to a point I can return to work but it seems to have hit a brick wall with improvement. What I really fear the most is the doctor deciding my back is stable but unable to return to work. I just don't know what to do at this point. It's enough to bring tears to this old warhorse' eyes, I'm so upset.

I'm not sure if any of you have been following the AIG debacle but I can tell you this; if they get away with it, we need to forge a revolution against the government that allowed a practically defunct firm to use bailout money to reward their 'crooks' for getting them into such a position. This is an embarrassment to the government that allowed this and the Treasury officials that said they could go ahead with this should be jailed for even thinking such a thing. I really appreciate my tax dollars being given to crooks when that 170 million dollars could go to a worthy cause, such as the 'Make Kellan Meig'h a Flipping Millionaire' fund. I know, not funny but fitting.

On a personal note. I am still working on chapter 25 of "A Loss Of Rights" so it will not be posted this weekend. Tomorrow (the 22nd) is the Tigress' birthday so I will be banned from the Internet most likely. Not that I see it as a bad thing but it is her birthday so I have to make it special for her. I didn't have time to get her a present today so I need to go tomorrow and get it for her. Besides, chapter 25 is a very important chapter that requires my full attention (what little is left, at this point).

It is kind of off topic but I started out this blog sipping some nice 12 yr old Lombard Speyside "Pebble Beach" scotch. Very smooth, slight smoky peat taste, very smooth finish. Anyway, very good but very expensive so I limit myself on it. I kinda needed another wee dram but all that's in the cabinet is good ol' Jack Daniels. After sipping the Lombard, Jack seems like paint solvent. Oh Well ...

Anyway, that's all for tonight. Take care y'all, especially my friends SC and Aslaug.

The Usual Stuff

Updates at a ridiculous hour of the morning-

Well, Chapter 24 of "A Loss Of Rights" is up for your reading pleasure. Anybody want to cop to reading this stuff? Hmm?

Still looking for a HTML editor that won't break my limited budget. I really grew to like DreamWeaver CS4 but it's way too expensive at $399 street.

I tried to use NetObjects Fusion but it wouldn't install on Vista. Yeah, I know that's most likely the problem (Vista) but their answer to the problem of why their trial version wouldn't install was 'buy the full version'. Yeah, as if I had fell off the turnip truck yesterday.

I'm currently evaluating (30 day trial) CoffeCup HTML editor and so far, it seems to work. I still have two others as backups but I wanted a more 'on the fly' editing capability. Must be my old age. My backups are Evrsoft 1stPage2000 and the other, more reliable one is PSPad.

By the way, if you're going to Further Confusion 2010, the con-rate rooms are now available to the public. They will go fast so make sure to reserve a room before Sunday night. They will most likely be all gone by Monday, if last year is any indication.

Well, that's all for now, I think I will shuffle off to bed and try to get some rest. I bicycled a few miles and worked out with some weights today.

Take care and have a nice weekend, if you can. Catch ya on the flip side!

Monday, Monday ...

Just thought I would share this-

We have a ceiling fan/light combo in our kitchen. We usually try to be energy concious and shut it off if we're not working in the area.

Just a few minutes ago, I went into the kitchen to put my dirty bowl that held my 'no sugar added' ice cream into the sink. I turned on the light and it burned out. Not just burned out but it made a noise like it was screaming in pain when it went! Kinda like a mouse squeaking!

I just thought this was funny and so did my daughter. Your mileage may vary. Void where prohibited.

Take care,

Kellan, the old warhorse.
